wipers and washers turning on by themself
Just installed a rebuilt column in my truck. It has all new parts and wiper switch. When the is running the wipers and washers turn on by themself. I have to twist the switch to get them to turn off. Any ideas? Im guessing there is a problem with the switch.

Re: wipers and washers turning on by themself
Be careful about assuming its the switch. I replaced the switch twice because my wipers wouldn't reliably turn off. I would have to keep turning the switch on and off over and over again until they turned off. Also, the wipers wouldn't always park at the bottom. I replaced the switch twice and the delay module, but the problem persisted. I was thinking the parts store sold me a cheap Chinese switch!
Mine turned out to be the motor. I replaced the motor and the wipers work perfect now. The motor is actually easier to replace than the switch. So if you are throwing parts at it, I would try that first. |
