steel wheels & dog dish.. backset with disc brakes?
hi all... i love the look of the 15x8 steelies with the dog dish caps... i question if these will work for me?
my '72 has '87 k5 axles with disc brakes.... does anyone what backspacing would be needed for this setup? how do you measure backspace? any wisdom shared will certainly be appreciated! Last edited by Timbro; 08-17-2014 at 10:12 PM. |

Re: steel wheels & dog dish.. backset with disc brakes?
I'm pretty sure they had 4.5" backspace. Stock 72 had disk brakes. So a stock wheel and cap should fit. You measure it from the mounting surface to the bead or lip on the rim where the tire rests. Easiest way is to get a strait edge and lay it a Ross the wheel. Then measure down strait to the wheel mount surface from the strait edge.
