Windshiels Washer Pump and Reservoir - Modern S10 Swap

After doing a little research I decided to make a thread that talked about the S10 washer pump and reservoir upgrade that I have seen done. I have some part numbers and borrowed some pics and info from other board members...

Here are the part numbers:
88-94 S10 series tank GM # 22127587
Dorman tank cap # 54100
Trico washer pump # 11513
GM washer pump # 89025062
GM pump grommet # 22039457
AC Metripack150 connector # PT374

The tank comes in the S10, S15, Blazer, Jimmy and Bravada. The years range from 1988 to 1994 when the body style changed. Below is a picture of the tank.

Wiring the pump.

Unplug that connector from the stock pump, then feed the two wires for your new aftermarket pump through the firewall, crimp some flat spade connectors on the ends of the new wires, and stick them into this plug. The yellow wires connect to your new red wire and the black wire from your new washer pump plugs into the dark blue wire side of the connector.

Great info, Saw another member's truck (in person) with this swap, very clean solution.

I did this swap about ten years ago. I like the full size truck reservoirs as the pump, hoses, and wires are on the back.

That looks like it fits well in there... what year make and model truck did tank/pump assembly come from?

I just picked up the same reservoir from a 94 GMC to install in my truck. When you mounted it to the fender, did you only need to use the upper two mounting tabs on the reservoir??

I like the looks of where the two mounting holes are for this one more then the S10. The full size truck has the mounting holes on the same plane where as the S10 one looks as if the rear mounting hole is an inch or more higher.

Yes, top two. It's been hanging there for a long time and about 40-50K miles with no issues.

Re: Windshiels Washer Pump and Reservoir - Modern S10 Swap

I think I'm about to cave and do this. Only problem is mounting it: I have big block and dual batteries. So not only is the aux battery in that area so is the power steering reservoir. Worst case would it fit where the factory one went, or is the fender arch too high?

Talking Re: Windshiels Washer Pump and Reservoir - Modern S10 Swap

I did this mod many many years ago.
I went one step further though and added the spray nozzels off a import to the wipers. I get a full spray across the wiper area now.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Windshiels Washer Pump and Reservoir - Modern S10 Swap

Here are some better pictures of the nozzels installed on the arms. I put the nozzles in a pan on my heater in the garage and heated them up, I then took a pair of vise grips and closed them up so they would hold to the wiper arm.
