Ho 52 housing swap

Hi I've posted on here in the past about HO 52 swaps. I'm planning on doing it over this weekend and was wondering if the full floater eaton needed to be shimmed. If so any method recommendations?
Thanks Andrew

Re: Ho 52 housing swap

If you're just changing the jug, no.

Haha I don't know exactly what you mean by jug, but my plan is to pull the rear drive shaft and unbolt the 4:56 ring and pinion as one then slid the 4:10 set I have back in its place.
