It is VERY RUSTY and im sure was under water a couple times. Its in a flood zone. Pretty much everything around that town went in the drink a couple years ago...

It is a 1 ton panel truck, they used the long wheel base chassis.

All due respect to you, Dans66Chevy you don't know that this truck was ever underwater. Your location is noted as "upstate NY" and last I checked it snows heavily there every year.

This is a 60 year old, ungalvinized vehicle - of course its got a lot of surface rust. From that photo (if that's all you have) you don't know if its got more than the surface rust we can all see. Did you inspect it? These trucks - even the ones here is Southern California, have rust in the cab corners, the "brow" above the windshield, the brow above the headlights and assorted other places. If this truck has that I'd say its actually in fairly good shape for a NY truck!

Bad is what it is! I love the look of it! I'm 4 wheel guy is my opinion will be different than most... I'd buy it and shove some 35s under it and let it eat. That truck has a lot of potential to be very cool.

MR.48 for the win! There is a gal out here that has one that was converted to 4x. She bagged it, sold the front end and engine, swaped to LT1 and installed a 3rd windowless door on the drivers side just behind the front door. When aired out the thing looks a block long!

Re: Can Someone Tell Me What This Is??

CLR will do wonders on that surface oxidation. Probably has some rust but from 30' looks savable. should have a 4 speed or maybe hydro and very tall gears. I ran a SM420 and 1 ton rearend with 4:56 gears for a while, it would climb a tree once you got there...

Re: Can Someone Tell Me What This Is??

as others have said it is a 58 or 59, 38 1 ton panel truck aka 3805
sedan delivery was based on the wagons of the era, there was no panel delivery designation
panels and suburbans used the same frame, front clip, doors and basic cab related stuff as the pickups
only the 38 beast used the long frame

this is my 1959 38 panel, back in the day

Re: Can Someone Tell Me What This Is??

and yes it is (almost) 2 miles long
when i built my first house i stuffed a 15 foot steel beam in mine
and was almost able to close the doors
it's probably 13 feet from the doors to the firewall

Not meaning to hijack, but I know you guys like pics. 57TF, your comment reminded me of this I saw whilst traveling on vacation:

Kinda makes my stock Jeep look wimpy:
