Re: Finally the journey from Michigan to Oregon is underway

Well we have made it all the way to St Peters MO from Lexington today. Again the truck ran flawlessly. I had the pleasure of meeting Tommys72. Tom is a great guy and has a very nice example of a daily driven original paint truck.

Tomorrow we will meet up with another great guy and his wife here in the greater St Louis area.

Pictures at 11

Take care all and thanks again for the thoughts and kind words.

Hope your trip/move goes flawlessly! I bought a bezel from you and I can say, if you treat all your customers as fairly as you treated me, you are in for great success! As a fellow small businessman, I like to see that!

Re: Finally the journey from Michigan to Oregon is underway

Hello all,

Today we drove 633 miles from St Peters MO to Goodland KS. It was on the list as one of the most boring rides to date but not to bad. The old 72 ran like a clock once again and has barely used a pint of oil.

We stopped in to say hi to a board member who lives in KS. he was not available but he may be the only one to recognize the photo I post.

Yesterday on the 18th, we spent the day with board member (72shortfleet) Les and his wife and did a tour of the Budweiser brewery and Les showed us some very nice landscape in his neck of the woods. He has a very beautiful 70 GMC (I think 70?) and we took some photos of the two together. It was a great day and I/we had a blast hanging out with Les and his wife.

Tomorrow we will head to Colorado springs and then north up to Denver to stay for the night. Going to be interesting to see how the truck goes through the mountains but I know the scenery will be very nice.

Thank you to all for the well wishes and kind thoughts.
Take care,
Tom

Hi Dan,

I guess I need to pay more attention. I did not realize you were in KS until now. We could have arranged to meet somewhere. Oh well, maybe some other time.

We are looking forward to the mountains in Colorado. I was there in 1998 and loved it.

Take care and thank you,
Tom

Hey Tom - Glad things are going well. Too bad you couldn’t have dropped down to North Texas. We would have been able to treat you two to some smoked brisket and cold brew.

You all be safe and enjoy your travels. BTW - We need more pictures!

Re: Finally the journey from Michigan to Oregon is underway

Hello all,

Well we made it into Colorado today and we are actually in the Denver area for the night as I am writing. We got of off I-70 at US24 in the town of Limon and took that to Colorado Springs and then up to Denver.

The green/white 4x4 was in Goodland and I suspect it was a local truck. it was a nice looking truck.

The weather was beautiful here today and we had a good drive. Sorry guys, I have my head on a swivel looking for these trucks but they are scarce so far. I have seen a few though.

Tomorrow we travel from Denver to Richfield, UT. It is about 466 miles. I am looking forward to the scenery of the Rocky mountains and the Salt Lake area.

Take care,
Tom

Richfield? Just what route are you taking to Oregon? That's 300 miles south of The Oregon Trail!

Gary, we are coming in from Denver on I-70 and hitting I-15 northbound to I-84 and up and around to I-5.

It is not the direct way there and we planned it that way. We are seeing some beautiful country.

Take care,
Tom
