Putting non-original wood in LWB Stepside

Want to put five 1"x 10"x 8' oak boards in my '71 stepside. Will still use stock sills and am using SS strips between.
Has anybody done this and are there particular problems with trying to do this?
Not interested in originality, just a good quality floor.
What would be the order I should assemble and drill everything? The bed is presently off the truck and standing vertical.
Should I bolt the sills with a 1" x 3/4" strip of wood running down each side and then drop bed on truck and install boards and strips? Will I run into trouble trying to figure where to put bed mounting bolts?

I haven't done it, but there is a good series of videos on youtube that cover some of what you are asking. The video series is Stacey David's TV show Gears. The videos are titled something like converting a long bed to a short bed. In the videos, he walks through the process of installing a wood bed.
