air tank location..behind seat??
Hey guys, been trying to figure out where to mount my air tank for my set up. I have a 5 gal tank n the problem I run into is I have a bed mounted gas tank and my exhaust runs from the outside of my frame rails beneath the cab n dump in front of rear tires. Don't have much space due to it being a short bed fleet.
I was wondering if anyone has placed their tank behind the seat with the compressor outside mounted on the chassis to cut down noise inside cab. I've searched n although I've seen many diff mounting spots, it seems majority is 3 gal tanks or are talented enough to fab up some brackets to mount in diff places. I'm trying to avoid mounting tank n compressor inside bed but I'm thinking that might be my best bet. Truck is a low buck project so wood bed will either be plywood or some sort of low cost planks that I wouldn't mind mounting a tank to if it came down to it. Thing is a lot of ppl here in town don't have respect for other ppls property so that's always a concern. Thanks in advance to any helpful tips n info to everyone. |

Re: air tank location..behind seat??
I wouldn't mount it so close to me personally. If something ever happened and that tank failed...god forbid.
