That is probably the most often damaged frame component on our trucks. I don't know why GM put the large hole in it because people think that it's the perfect spot to install a strap or chain to pull from. As your truck can attest, it's not. Mine was bent, but not as bad as yours, but I was able to use a rosebud and heat it get it back straight.
