Trans. fluid question...
So I am still running my 327 and 4 speed manual trans...
Does anyone know what tranny fluid I should be running? I don't know much about it, except it is a 2 wheel drive 4 speed stick, and it seems to be definitely late 60s vintage...definitely not new...it's covered in oil and grease, and I don't know where to find the identification... truck runs out good and strong and shifts well(grinds a little into 1st and reverse, but not bad), but it is making a little noise now like it may be a little low on fluid. I'll check the level out tomorrow, just wondering what fluid I should be using. Thanks guys! |

Re: Trans. fluid question...
Back in the day, we always ran straight 90 weight gear oil. There are better choices now. I would use 80W-90, or better still, 75W-90 synthetic.
