New owner of a 54 here
I am a proud new owner of a 1954. I bought it last week for $1000 and its pretty solid needs cab corners for sure "which I have" and im sure the door skins need some love.
What makes them different? Everything I see is usually pre 53. I plan to bag it, as ive owned mini trucks in the past. But can any other frame get used besides a long bed? Thanks guys |

Re: New owner of a 54 here
Chevy or GMC? On a Chevy, one piece windshield, which changes the shape of the top of the cab, the visor if so equipped and the cowl vent/opening. The grill, which changes the front of the fenders and the hood latch panel in front of the radiator. Flat bed rails instead of slanted and frame is different in the bed area. Dash is different, too.

Re: New owner of a 54 here
you can use any frame you want. every frame needs some kind of modification to make it work. I used a 4x4 S10 Blazer frame and had to lengthen it 9"
