k5 2wd rear diff

i was wondering if a 12 bolt 2wd rear diff in a k5 is the same width as a 12 bolt 2wd diff in a truck?mine is leaking at the plug welds on the axle tubes,has anyone sealed theese welds?thanks for your info.

They're the same, but if you pull yours I'd try to seal it. Short of getting it welded up, wonder if POR would stop the weeping?

Does it drip or just seep oil around the plug welds? I think most of them have oil/dirt around them. Unless it actually drips I don't think I'd worry too much. You might replace the vent assembly, carb clean the plug weld and then lay the paint to that area thick.....
