Removing glued down floor insulation?

Ok...been working on cleaning out my cab down to bare metal. After about three hours effort, I think I've blown out all the mice nests and poop from all the nooks and crannies.

Next I want to flush the interrior out with water and cleaner but before that I want to get that insulation stuff glued to the floor and firewall out of there. When I peel it up half comes off and half sticks.

Any pointers here? I was going to tackle it with a gasket scraper and some degreaser but wanted to know if anyone else has come up with a good method to get this stuff gone quick and easy.

Propane Torch just don't let it burn to long or it will warp the sheet metal

Buy a cheap vibratory multi tool with a scraper blade. Harbour Freight has them for about $29.00 it is money well spent.

Your suggestion just got me thinking, I have a Dremel Multi Max and they do make a scraper for it. I'll have to pick a scraper blade and see how it works.

A needle/scaler works great also. Here's one from Harbor Freight. They can reach $475 for an Ingersol Rand model.

I used a commercial glue remover from Home Depot (I think). A home contractor buddy brought it to me. It is used to remove glue from floors when pulling linoleum and carpet (when glued to foundation). It has the consistency of jelly. you spread it on the floor, wait 15 or so minutes and it softens the glue to where you can just scrape off with a plastic scraper. The problem (issue) is that it also bubbles up a lot of paint exposing bare metal. It also needs to be done in well ventilated area - prettty strong. I will try to find the bottle tonight and post the product name.

Removed my insulation this weekend and the Dremmel multi-max flexible scapper buzzed it off really quick. Finished the clean-up with chlorinated brake clean and acetone.
