Quick question: I replaced my power steering pressure hose on my 83 in the fall and like an idiot and keeping with my cheapo attitude i didnt replace the return hose at the same time... well now i gotta do it in the middle of winter! any way i said quick so here it is! : can i just go down to napa and get some hose cut? and if so what size, or do i need to order a special hose. Ive noticed in cataloges they have the return hose listed.....

It doesn't have to handle the high pressure of the supply side but it must be compatable with PS fluid.
Mine has been on for years with only hose clamps (two on each end) and it doesn't leak.
If you don't get the right hose (compatable with PS fluid) you can be in for a big problem when the hose comes apart on the inside.

ain't that the way things go. they'll work fine when it's nice out, and then alll of a sudden when it -30C everything that can go wrong does.

Yeah its a piss off, but im ok with it ive been wanting an excuse to spend some time with the truck, i just hope it can warm up just a wee bit.

So i have to get a special hose that is compatable with power steering fluid?
