I have a 3"/4" drop, what size shocks to get?
hey guys. I finally have my truck dropped at 3" in front and 4" drop in the back. What size shocks is needed for that type of drop? I jsut don't know where to begin with the measurements on these things. Also I am planning to occasionally use the truck for heavy items from home depot, do you think I will benefit from a heavy duty shock in the back?
Thanks! |

If you got all of your drop from spindles and blocks the mounting points for the shocks didn't move. If you got drop springs the shock mounting points have gotten closer, did you install rear shock mount relocaters or modify the factory mounts?
So, maybe.. Stock shocks, flipped lower mounts, drop springs...

For the rear I recommend Monroe Magnum 34944 http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=60411
With a 4" rear drop you will want to get the CPP rear shock relocation kit because lowering the truck layed the shock over and rendered it nearly useless. You will also want to buy their adjustable track bar because with the truck that low the rear axle will no longer be on center when the suspension is fully collapsed. |
