Is a 4" suspension kit the biggest kit we can buy as a kit?

You can go 6" and keep drive shaft, parking brake cables original length. Higher than that and you'll run into some extra work. The higher you go the stiffer the ride, I went from 6 down to 4" and there is a noticeable difference in ride quality and road manners. I can't speak to what an 8" lift would ride like, but there are some other forums, ColoradoK5 and Arizonak5 for example, that might have some reviews for you. Link below has a member on there bigbadchev72 with an 8" lift, maybe reach out to him with Q's?

Man that's great info. I have a 4" now that is pretty old and I was considering replacing it with a 6". Didn't want to get into changing DS, cables, etc. Also gonna add steering stabilizer

I'm running a Tuff Country six inch lift, love the way it looks and rides but my front drive shaft has to be lengthened will not fit now, the rear ds fits/works but should really be lengthened too. I haven't really flexed it to its max but its about two inches shorter than it should be. The parking brake cables will also need to be longer for me to hook it up again. Brake hoses also needed to be replaced with longer ones. Also requires correct steering arm for the lift. I believe a four inch lift is max without the need to lengthen ds, parking brake cables and brake hoses. Hope this helps.

Sure does. Think I,m gonna stick with the 4" and add new shocks and steering stabilizer.

Just doing that is certainly the cheapest way to go. I'm actually contemplating going down to a two inch lift with 33s. Just hope it is as appealing looks wise as my current six inch lift and 35s. The wife has a hard time getting in without a little boost from me LOL
