3/4 ton 1971 Cheyenne. These are US Indy 15X8.5 in front and 15X10 in the back. It's a nice look.

Straight on: The tires are 31/1050r15 in front and 32/1150r15 in the rear. You'll have more luck finding 16.5" slots than 15". The 15" will work great if you're empty, but I'm right up to the capacity with this big old camper! I have a spare set of 16.5 steel wheels for camping and towing a horse trailer, so I bought a set of 16.5 slots from a board member, and when I get them polished I think I'll try them on. My local tire dealer left a rear 15X10 loose last summer and I just got it back from the wheel shop. I thought it for sure it was toast. They welded the holes and re-bored the 8-hole pattern. This is a link for a place in Washington State that had some 16.5 8-hole slots about 6 months ago. Good luck. Tom.

Those slots look cool, but I like the way those Outlaw's look on your truck, Dion. I'd personally just leave them on there.

For me, I'm probably gonna go for a set of these when I have enough money:

Mechanic-Thanks for the pictures, I was hoping you'd see the thread and post your truck.

68CST327-thanks, I like em' too but they seem a bit busy. I haven't really made up my mind on what to do. I'm working with a board member right now on possibly getting his slots.

Dion,

These are 16.5. Not polished. (Neither is the truck!)

Pic one of two.

thanks cliff, they look great. I see one has a cap, did they come with caps or did you use something else? I was hoping to use some kind of center cap with mine.

You are most welcome Dion. My 71 is an older paint job in the original medium olive. I enjoyed seeing your paint in another thread recently. Nice truck.

The wheels didn't come with caps. There are a variety of caps available that can be used. I bought a cap set (American Racing I think) from Big O when I got tires put on and found out that two of the wheel centers were a slightly smaller diameter than the other two. The caps slide outward from the inner side on the wheel. After lots of trying of other available cap sizes, I gave up on finding center caps for the two that weren't standard size. Nothing Big O could get would fit. The small centers can always be machined to match the others size.

I Don't know if the four wheels came from two different sources or one source with intentional difference in center diameters for rears vs. fronts? My memory is that the smaller center wheels fit fine on the rear axle just like the larger ones. I plan to put them on the 71 K20 that came home in December and will leave caps off the front to reach the locks.

Anyone ever hear of different center diameters on these wheels, or any others on our trucks for that matter?
