Angry New bags now won't start? WTF?

Ok so I just got done paying my air ride some much needed attention. New ss-7s up front. 2 new smc valves and gauges for all 4 corners and tanks (no power ran to them yet)

Finally get it all buttoned up and go to start it and NOTHING. turn the key and literally no noise. the radio turns on when in on position but that's it.

My first thought was ignition switch. So i pulled it down to just the wiring harness that plugs into the back and essentially hot wired it by jumping the bat, ign, and sol wires and nothing still so it must not be ign switch right?

All my fuses look good and battery is solid so what next? Starter solenoid? Where is it located on the 71 c10? I remember My 63 Lincoln had it on the side of the engine bay and I'd just jump it and it would start right up. Same thing to test it on this? It would be great if someone can help me out here cause as you can imagine, I'm dieing to get out and try out these new bags and gauges.

Starter solenoid is mounted right on top of the starter. If you can get a test light on the purple wire and have somebody hit the key, see if you're getting power to the solenoid.

I would retrace you install make sure you didn't leave a wire loose somewhere. I would also make sure your ignition wire is plugged into your distributor. Two easy things to check?

Thanks guys, Checked the distributor wire and checked everything we did. I'm pretty convinced it has to be the solenoid or starter. I'll climb under there tomorrow and check.

If it's an automatic, also check the neutral safety switch.

Matt that's a good point because that's what it's acting like. Like I'm trying to start it while the shifter isn't in park. Where is this switch located? Passenger side somewhere right? And is there a good way to test this?

The switch is on the steering column tube about half way down the length.

Don't forget to check the small wire going from the + battery terminal to a stand off block on the pass. fender...

Re: New bags now won't start? WTF?

Thanks for the reply Brian. Is that half way between the steering wheel and dash or the dash and fire wall? I ran some 1/4" line under the dash and over the steering column for the gauges so if its there then maybe I bumped it with something.

It is between the dash and floor. I would check that air line.

Re: New bags now won't start? WTF?

Hell to the yes. It was one of the wires on the neutral switch! must have bumped it when pulling line in the dark. I'm glad it's not the solenoid. Thanks a LOT you guys for the advice and that pick was very helpful.

Good deal, glad it was something simple and didn't cost any money.
