HELP! Late model steering wheel ('78-'91) on '75 Blazer

I am upgrading my steering wheel on a '75 Blazer with a later model, '78-'91 wheel. Can anyone help with the horn button wiring?

There is a plunger on the existing steering column.

The old wheel has an assembly that when the horn button is pushed, it grounds a steel ring. The newer horn button has two plates of steel with a male wire clip prong. The horn button does not reach deep enough to activate the plunger?

Any suggestions or help to adapt the horn button would be appreicated.

Thanks, Greg.

The horn button is round, so the wheel is probably from an '89 - '91 model truck.
