Wipers and Blades

67 cab ....... Just got my truck back from body shop with a charcoal epoxy primer and they removed my wipers so at this point I would like to install a newer type. I don't mind paying for good wipers that don't smear, so what do you recommend?

Re: Wipers and Blades

I run stock arms with Bosch premium wiper blades. I haven't found any old style arms that I think look right so this has been the best solution to get the look I wanted for them. They tend to run about $30 40 for blades but I can see. Use plenty of Rain X and the blades seem to last longer.

Re: Wipers and Blades

I run AC Delco classics or whatever they are called. They aren't the beam style(ones with no pressure points). So eventually I expect them to smear. I don't think the new style looks good on this vintage of truck.

Re: Wipers and Blades

I have silver arms and the ugly black (but high quality) wiper blades with all of the little flex points and so on. They're ugly as sin, but I live in Seattle.

FWIW, I've found the Eastwood "Alumablast" paint to be very close to the way the original arms looked.

I actually had to use the factory wipers on my '69 Pontiac and I don't know how those people survived back then. I guess I did, and that includes Saskatchewan winters too, I'm just spoiled by modern cars. Heck, my actual windshield is heated now!

Re: Wipers and Blades

Could only find 1ea new Trico arm and got the Trico classic blade which will be fine for now. 15in. blade. I ordered another arm, blades are easy to come by. Same time I installed my new 2 speed wiper switch. Tested good, well at least I'll have one wiper for now, will be raining here tomorrow.

Re: Wipers and Blades

I know they call for 15" but could a guy run 16"?

I can't find any quality 15" blades they seem to start at 16

On another note our costco around us has a smoking deal on wiper blades 16-28". First two are $5 each then $8. I think they are a Goodyear. But super nice I bought for my commuter car and would have been almost $40 anywhere else
