Rear brake adjustment hole??
My 71 does not have adjustment hole in mounting plate... The brake drums that came with the truck have no adjustment holes... Can I get new drums with holes?

Re: Rear brake adjustment hole??
Some do some don't. Last ones I got were manufactured in Canada and had knock-outs with plugs. And had to later true the drum on one was outta round kept getting red hot. Really made my day to true a new drum. Machine shop guy said it isn't uncommon for new ones needing to be trued up.

Re: Rear brake adjustment hole??
Just to add to this one... I ran into this two weeks ago with drums from Autozone. Every drum all the local parts stores had didn't have the hole for brake adjustments ,not even the knock outs. I knocked out the unused plug on one of my old drums and used it for a template and then used my dremel to cut holes in my new drums. Wasted a bunch of time running around to different parts stores attempting to find ones with holes already cut. At my last stop there was a customer that owns a local car customizing shop who overheard the conversation we were having and let me know that on many of the new drums coming out the holes are not there and you needed to cut them. On my 70 he recommended cutting the drum as the backing plate was lighter metal and would be prone to bending when I needed to adjust.
