New carb

So iv got 71 Chevy with a 402 and just added a 1406 edelbrock with the spacer and it starts great and runs great but it "diesels" every time i shut it off any suggestions.

Since it is new, and I presume it worked fine before the carb swap, that it is not properly adjusted yet.

Bump up your timing and when the motor speeds up then turn down the idle.
