Taylor-

Fellow Michigander...I have a 48 Chevy truck that I'm trying to get finished up myself. I dig the crew cab.

Best of luck with your sweet builds.

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....

Feels very very strange saying this, but finally took this truck for its first test drive over the weekend, and im very happy to have kept it.

It was a pain in the ass stuffing those wheels and tires up there, but i now have a fully functioning truck again haha. It lays out on a 33.5" OD tire, turns lock to lock, and has no more than 2 degrees camber change from fully laid out, to fully lifted.

The power rack steering is a dream as well, it drives like my 2010 silverado.

Getting excited, going to wrap up some sheetmetal on this thing, then get it in one solid color of primer so i can drive it for a month or so, and get any bugs worked out, then put some paint on it hopefully right in time for Camp-N-Drag 2012

Taylor

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....

Yes, it has a Mild Dropmember under it, but it had to get somewhat heavily modified to work with my application, but all in all it was the best decision made during this entire build. That kit helps substantially.

Those giant front wheels standing up straight ,when air'd out,... is killer!
Alot of people could learn from your build.

not the best pic, the two tone throws off the look a little, but atleast it will give you a clearance idea
