Factory floor board markings
Eric uncovered this today when prepping the bottom of the passenger side floorboard.

Re: Factory floor board markings
I had a little trouble making heads or tails of it until I mirrored the image. Are these markings pre or post stamping? Any ideas on what it all means? It's a 1970 Blazer...do you think 69 is a date code? Just something I hadn't seen before. Any insight appreciated.

Re: Factory floor board markings
Looks to me like it might be material markings on the original roll of coiled steel (that the floor pan was made out of).
Do the markings repeat regularly along the length of material? K

Re: Factory floor board markings
Nope, no other spots and no obvious repeats. That was my thought exactly, but wanted some informed insight. That kind of thing is super cool.

Re: Factory floor board markings
Keith...you'd also be a great one to comment on this. I posted this pic in my build thread. It was under the dash pad. Is this truly from the dash pad manufacturer or something that just got caught under there at some time in the last 44 years?

Re: Factory floor board markings
That's OEM from dash pad manufacturer. Did you find the carpet tag (pic from my K20)?

Re: Factory floor board markings
Nah, no carpet in this base jewel. In retrospect I was lucky to have a dash and floorboard. The middle 30% of the body and the frame are about the only thing that's going to be left from the truck that rolled off the St. Louis line 44 years ago.

Re: Factory floor board markings
Cool finds. Nothing much original in mine and was basically stripped when I Bought it.
