Huge Bench Vice
Ok.. Another finding in my dads garage. Need to know what it might be worth but Im not about to ship this sucker, Its heavy lol.
Its a Reed Manufacturing Bench Vice No 20C. 5 inch jaws, swivel base. Looks like its been welded along the jaw next to the handle so that does damper it a bit I guess. Thing is, a guy wants to buy it and I sent him these pictures. He immediately said he wanted it so Im thinking I may be screwing myself if I go $50 or so. What do yall think? |

Re: Huge Bench Vice
Yeah, that's low.
Good old vises are hard to find. Take the info you have and google it. That should lead you to ebay where you can see what people are bidding on them. |

Re: Huge Bench Vice
As much as I love old American made stuff, tools especially, I would not give much for something that's seen abuse and has failed. Cool vise, but to me the weld/repair is a total killer (even though i can't see it in the pics).

Re: Huge Bench Vice
I don't think you are that far off. Could it sell for more on ebay? yea but probably not a lot more after fees and the shipping hassle is worth something. If it wasn't welded I would say $100-150. For reference I recently attended an industrial auction that had 5", usa made, swivel vices with replaceable jaws on pretty nice tables and they sold for $175ish.
