Hydroboost adapter fitting help, please
I recently installed hydroboost on my 66 C20 and want to change the return fitting to a 90 degree fitting right out of the booster. I did some hard looking last night, and the only thing I can find is on Hydratech's site for $21.95 plus shipping. I'll pay it if I have to, but dang, it's just two fittings. Here's a description of the fittings:
o 5/16-24 O-ring Male to 1/8 NPT Male, Surface seal type adapter with O-ring seal (I believe this is called a BOSS fitting). This then connects to: o 1/8 NPT Female 90 Degree 3/8 Push On Hose Barb Fitting If there is another fitting, such as a 5/16-24 with a 90 degree bend to a 3/8 barb fitting, that would be even better, less connections is better. I appreciate help with this. I ask that you give very specific information, not just a website, I looked at about 20 websites last night trying to find these. That's not too demanding, is it? Haha Here's a link to a pic of what I am talking about. They call it "HYDRATECH HBS9100 LOW PROFILE RETURN LINE HOSE NIPPLE" http://www.hydratechbraking.com/hose...gs/imag039.jpg |

I don't have a magical answer for you but do you have any hydraulics shops locally? If so, they might have a fitting that will work. I'll see if I can remember to call one or two of the shops locally here.

Re: Hydroboost adapter fitting help, please
Yeah, Captain, I thought of that, too, just haven't done it yet. You don't have to do that unless it's for your own education.
Getting this Hydroboost totally buttoned up is next on the to-do list. Right now welding in new rockers, pillars, and cab corners then hopefully getting the interior done with Peel-n-Seal, along with some other stuff, then the vinyl floor mat that Markeb01 has in his truck. Trying to git 'er done in the next three days. This has been the most screwed up sequence of restoration I have seen on this board, haha. But progress is progress. Gotta hopefully drive it away to Colorado in about a month, relocating. BTW, I got those dimensions off the Hydratech website, appears to be the same as on other sites as well. I'm not 100% sure they are right, 5/16 seems kind of small to me, but I have not taken out the stock fitting to see what it looks like. Anyone happen to know for sure? Havn't called anyplace today, but pulled off the HB return fitting. It is indeed a 5/16-24 fitting, just in case anyone wants to know.

Re: Hydroboost adapter fitting help, please
Called a local place called Hosefast, they are a hydraulic place and they can fabricate hoses with whatever ends on them that you need. I think they do a lot of power steering hoses and other stuff for hot rodders, and DIYers trying to save a few dollars over factory parts.
They have the fittings there and will cost about $5-$7. I'm going to pick them up tomorrow. Hope the guy knew what he was talking about. |

Re: Hydroboost adapter fitting help, please
Got the fittings, $5 at the local hydraulic hose rebuild place. Installed, looks like it will work great, and last a long time. Hopefully no leaks, but it will have to wait a few weeks, heading out of town.
