well preserved 50th anniversary seat

i bought a 50th anniversary c20 from the original owner's son today who told me the seat has been covered since new. it was covered with a heavy clear plastic wrap and then with a leather outer cover. i was very intrigued and so it was like christmas when i unwrapped it! well it turns out it has a couple small tears and a few stains, but it's still the nicest one i've seen. what do you think?

also i'm not sure the best way to clean it, so if you have any advice let me know!

Re: well preserved 50th anniversary seat

I used to own a detail company and what I found works the best is Resolve mixed with hot water. Use a fine bristle brush and scrub. Vacuum up and wipe dry. This should clean up nice. Good Luck!!!

Re: well preserved 50th anniversary seat

That's a great find. I had a Custom Deluxe '71 with blue interior that had one of those covers on from new. the original owner wore through it on the lower portion of the back. Where it was worn through the upholstery was also worn through. What a shame, because when I took the cover off the rest of the seat it was beautiful. I actually sold it to a friend who managed to come across a sweet original Highlander seat cover that someone had removed when truck was close to new. I figure they didn't like that plaid. He had a restoration shop put it on that seat,so the seat lives on with class
