Fiberglass Body Parts
I see a lot of talk here about how bad the repo steel body parts are for our trucks. I need doors and fenders for my truck and i live in the south where it's
humid and we all know what that does to body parts. I've found a couple out west but after buying them and paying for shipping it's $500.00 to $600.00 each plus what repair they will need before mounting, not happening!! With that in mind has anybody used fiberglass parts and if so do they fit any better shot lines and mounting? |

Re: Fiberglass Body Parts
Your not going to find glass doors all you will find are the fenders and a hood.
I used a set of glass rear fenders once and did not like them at all. That being said glass products are just like steel. Some are better than others. I would go with Steel, prep and paint correctly and the humidity wont bother them a bit. |

Re: Fiberglass Body Parts
I would like glass parts as well that do not cost an arm and a leg and fit well. I also would like world peace.
Was thinking about a one piece front end but $$$$. |

Re: Fiberglass Body Parts
Ok, all that said here is my problem, i don't have doors and fenders to repair bought without them and can't seem to find any in my area that are worth repairing. Now, i'm not building a show truck just trying to put together a useable truck that i can use to haul my trash off, get a load of wood once in a while and enjoy driving it while i'm doing so, basically a "twenty footer" if you will so i'm not looking for panels that line up like a show truck, the original trucks didn't. So i ask, no matter how bad the repo panels are could a body man (won't be doing it myself) with average skills not get these panels to bolt up and fit halfway descent with the original front sheetmetal that i did get with the truck ( rad support, upper and lower grille surround, grill and hood) ? Thanks in advance for any opinions or feedback from you guys who have used the repo stuff.
