shaved rain gutters need input

I’ve been pondering shaving the gutters on my truck. As always I missed the trucks TV episode, but I’d rather have some real life explanation into the pros and cons of this
Please let me know.

It's hard! I did it on my '71 project. I would not do it again. Shaving 6" at a time and welding it back together is no problem, but trying to smooth the metal to look right is near impossible.

I've probably got over 100 hours into it already, and I'm sure there will be another 100 when I get back into it.

if you can use a welder, sawzall, grinder and do bodywork and (you have to know when to stop and walk away for awhile). if you can do these things i would say go for it. but if you can't do all of these stay away. lot's of work LOTS... but it's worth it in the end. find yourself an old beater cab and do some trial and error first, before you start in on your project truck. that way if you mess up no harm no foul...just my .02
