1946 Chevrolet truck windshield bumpers
Would someone shed some light as to where exactly the TWO rubber windshield bumpers attach on a 1946 chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup? A picture would be great!

Re: 1946 Chevrolet truck windshield bumpers
I have read that they supposedly mount somehow on the bottom of the windshield (inwards side toward cab interior) to prevent metal to metal contact when closing the windshield after having been cranked open. ?????

Re: 1946 Chevrolet truck windshield bumpers
I would assume that would introduce a HUGE water leak. I had to add an additional bulb seal to the window gasket/weatherstrip and clean out the corner holes, add tubes and run them out the floor as drains to keep rain water at 55 from soaking the dash. I was curious and crawled under the dash with a flashlight to see if those bushings were part of the center w/shield crank and couldn't see anything on mine that resembles them.

There should be a couple of screw holes for attachment somewhere or maybe they are seals for the wipers.
