matching interior parts - where?

need a bit of advice. I want to purchase all the interior pieces from one vendor but the trouble I'm having is some vendors have some of the parts while another vendor will have the other parts. Looking for bright blue parts (seat covers, door panels, dash pad, headliner, visors, etc). Some vendors will have them listed as "bright blue" while other show "blue". I want to buy everything from a single vendor in an effort to get matching colors. Hard to tell from pics what is "blue" and what is "bright blue"

have searched all the big boys (brothers, lmc, etc) with no luck. anyone have any advice?

Re: matching interior parts - where?

Ask who the manufacturer is. Most stuff will be PUI. Make sure the vendor has all the pieces supplied by the same manufacturer, a lot of times they just have stuff drop shipped from various places, and you will get a "grab bag" of parts.

Re: matching interior parts - where?

Problem that you are going to run into is the same problem that GM had when these trucks were built. That is no one manufacturer makes the whole interior. The manufacture that makes the seat upholstery and door panels isn't the same company that makes the dash pad and arm rest. Witch incidentally is a different company than makes the carpet. The steering wheel and sun visors are made by different companies as are the door handle escussions. Each company has their own color blends and don't match each other just like when the truck was built. WES

Wes - I'd be ecstatic if i could find matching seat covers, door panels, visors and a head liner. Everything else is understandable considering they are made from different materials.

Re: matching interior parts - where?

But it is frustrating when the aftermarket makes a color that was never even close to factory! If someone would make correct navy blue dashpad id be first inline to buy it!!

I have been able to get the complete bright blue interior for my 67 with the exception of the dashpad and the door escussions.

Willie, what year are you working on?

Re: matching interior parts - where?

Hotrod Todd a member of the board sells parts from various manufacturers. When I got my saddle interior from him he matched the closest from each to make one. He sent me pictures of the difference and put together what looked best. I'm very happy with it and highly recommend Todd. He a good guy also. Now mind you I live in Idaho and he lives in West Virginia.

Re: matching interior parts - where?

I have not been able to find 68-71 blue armrests that are correct color. The aftermarket ones are not a "metallic" blue but a flat blue. Those are the last things I need to complete my "bright blue" interior.

Re: matching interior parts - where?

What year truck are we talking about here? the vinyl door panels could match the seat, but the '72 panels never will. As Wes mentioned, there were various shades going on in these trucks from the get-go. It's correct for them not to match. The issue I have is manufacturers will make only one shade of a color where GM changed the shade between some years, especially blue.
