ls1 harness how to protect the wires

Hy all

GM is originally using a corrugated tube for protecting the wires.

Sorry but i am not sure how u call it in english.....i mean those black flexibel plastice tubes...
My english translater calls it "corrugated tube"

So after i have stripped the harness....i want to use the same tube, but i am just wondering if the sharp edge (where the tube is slotted) wont hurt the where the cables come out of the harness.... ???

Of course i have tapped the cables before i put it in the tubes... but i guess of all the vibratons of the engine the sharp edge will cut it through...

I hope u understand what i mean !! :-)

Thanks for ur help

Here it is frequently called split loom. Most of the time you will see just a few extra layers of tape where your wirirng needs to exit the loom. If you want a really clean look you can get something like this. Just make sure it is engine temp safe.

There are different types of this stuff that all do the same job. You can also look at "braided loom" which looks like a Chinese Finger Trap, and is a bit softer and more flexible than the other stuff.

I use Techflex braided loom on all my harnesses. You can get it in the solid "finger trap" style like Brew mentioned, and you can also get a split version of it.
