V.I.N code
I'm trying to decode my new to me 71 blazer. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm trying to find out the original color, also my V.I.N. is not the same as the glove box V.I.N. so I'm trying to find out if the glove box is correct or my body and title are correct.
Thanks in advance. Glove box:CSI81F656530 BODY:CE141S625945

Re: paint code
I'm thinking the glove SPID is Blazer and the body tag is from a pickup.
There are several decoders around that should help.

Re: paint code
In my quest to find out the original color I may be uncovering more on this vehicle than I bargained for. I also was told at the time of purchase that it had a 427 engine that had 5 miles on it. We have ran the numbers on it and found it to be a mid seventies 454 block with 72 402 heads that we still haven't got running right. I'll admit that I was more inteterested in the body than the engine because I would rather have an LS under the hood anyways, bit the sell of the 427 would have greatly offset the cost of the LS it was still never the less misrepresented. I found it on EBAY but I was too late to bid and purchased it after the auction ended. I may be looking into what repercussions I may have on this one. I'm not sure what I can do wit a blazer wit a truck VIN.

Re: paint code
I did notice on the S.P.I.D. in the glove box that it said that the blazer was to be imported and wonder if the title was lost or who knows what going back and forth across the border.

Re: paint code
Very interesting SPID - some RPO's I haven't yet seen on any posted to the SPID thread. Bummer about the mismatch. What VIN is stamped on the frame? Do you know if the K5 was exported at one time?
Glove box model # denotes a 2wd 6-cyl Flint built Blazer Pillar VIN is for a 1971 2wd 8-cyl 1/2t St. Louis Pickup
