Let's talk windows ;)
Ok, done a search on here and looked in the lmc/brothers catalogs and still non the wiser, so maybe somebody that's already tackled this job can help.
I brought my 1954 back in August but it only arrived in the UK last week. Now the seller forgot to tell me that there is no door glass, it has the quarter lights/vent windows but not the glass that goes up/down. So the actual glass looks easy enough to get, it's flat it could be cut locally. I also have in the truck the regulators, the up and down leaver on each side. Now the glass must mount to something and then this mount to the regulator, I located one site on the net that said to put this glass in the vent window has to come out, is that true. Should I look to go to one piece windows? Or retain the vent. Exactly what prt as I missing some metal bar I guess, but does the regulator contact direct with that, or is there something else. Anybody got any pictures of what I am missing? Thanks in advance

HI;
The full window glass will take the double arm type roller; The small window with vent window will take the short one arm type roller; The full window does bolt to the bottom of the window on a bar that fits to the window. Hope this will help you. T-P Auto Tim |

It can be done but it is a PIA. I have done a few but not with the last build.
As far as the glass you glue it in the track you have. Fill the track with a strong adhesive put in the glass...roll up and leave it for 24hrs |

I have the full window cab.(Frankenstine) I have come across a set of windows with the vents,plus the rear window. Just had to take the gauge set out for the gentlemen. I wanted to put power windows in the doors anyway. So the smaller windows look to be easier to do that with. Got all the hardware with the windows,plus also pickup the glove box door n the speaker grill with ash tray. T-P Auto Tim |

I have a 51 with the vent windows. I replaced all of the glass in mine with new glass. The large pieces of glass do need a part on the bottom. It is a channel that fits on to the bottom of the glass and has a channel for the roller of the regulator to move back and forth in. This is either held in with a rubber setting tape, or windshield urethane.( I used urethane). I have seen these channels for sale on LMCtruck.com website. You do need to remove the vent glass assembly to install the main side glass. Remove the entire vent glass assembly as a complete unit, then lower the side glass into place, get the regulator roller in the groove on the lower channel on the glass, then lower the glass to the bottom of the door. While keeping the side glass towards the back of the door, reinstall the vent glass assembly carefully while lining up the edge of the glass with the vertical channel on the vent glass assembly, bolt it together and check for proper operation. I hope this helps and isn't too confusing.

Thanks for the information, did not want to purchase only part of what I needed.
It's helped a lot, thanks guys. Ps anybody know best place to buy the best quality window guide felt/inserts

Thanks for the photo, think I need the glass and the metal bar below the glass. I'll keep the vent windows as its simpler.

so on the window subject I have an issue that I am wondering how to fix. The one piece windows on my 50 are hard to roll up. They roll up about half way and then they get hard enough that it feels like I am going to break the crank. If I pull up on the window it will go up and it will go down just fine. Is this a bad regulator or a lube issue? If its a lube issue, what all parts should get lube and what lube should I put in there?

At work we lube door components with PB Blaster to free it up. If we need a second shot at it, I'll use a sprayable white grease.
At home, cleaned items get a brush-on white grease. All three seem to do the job just fine. As for which parts... As the shop manager said "I realize this is kind of Jethro, but since you can't always see exactly where the problem is we use lube with a carpet-bombing sort of approach in door repairs"
