head questions

I have a 1992 Suburban w/ a blown head gasket. Since I had to pull the valve covers anyway I decided to run the heads on this engine to see if another pair that I had would match close enough to not have to reprogram the computer. What I found is suprising. The head casting is 14102187. When I looked up the data on this it says they are 305 heads. Is it possible they were for both 350 and 305? I checked the suffix codes and they show the block to be a 91 350 put in light trucks.

The other set of heads I have are 14102193. My orginal intent was to use these heads only if they current heads were cracked or warped, but now I am wondering if I should just use the newer heads anyway. Any thoughts on this?
