1968 CST10 Shortbed. Is this a deal or no deal
Hey every one.
I looked at a 1968 CST 10 shortbed yesterday, I was told I could have it for $1750. The good is its a shortbed, has buddy bucket seats, a fresh 350, and TH400. The bad its rotted, the bed shot, the rockers, cab corners, all shot. The good news I have a solid cab, I also have an extra solid shortbed in my parts stash. I also have a speed warning tach dash with buzzer that i paid $50 for. My question to you is, do you think its worth the $1750 to buy the truck? I have included some pictures because I know you can not advise me with out.

Looks like the seats are almost worth that alone. Is it a real shortbed or has it been cut down? What shape is the frame in? If the frame is good I would say it is worth it.

With all the rust that you mention, how is the frame?
If the frame is good/useable, and you said that you already have a cab and bed, sounds like a buy. As long as you check the VIN against the frame numbers and they match.

Frame looks good, I believe the truck had ben previously restored back in the 80's. Its a true shortbed, I checke.

Check the spid, the white sheet on the glove box door, and if the vin plate and vin on spid match check the wheelbase to make sure its a real swb. If the spid, tag, frame, and title match and its a real shortbed, I say go for it.

To me, the price is fair. Weather to buy it or not?...depends on your project budget. If you can do body work yourself, great!. If you can't it could be a money pit. imo

Re: 1968 CST10 Shortbed. Is this a deal or no deal
Is it worth $1,750?
Haaaahahahaha... Haaahahaha..... Haaahahaha!! The question on that truck would usually be, "Hey, is this truck worth $13,500?" On this one, and at $1,750, I wouldn't care if it were a *real* short bed, if the bed was a ball of tin foil, if the SPID were glued on to the roof, or if Geo Washington slept in it. If it's not stolen, I WOULD only care if there was no frame under it, what "fresh" actually meant on the engine and tranny, and if the only thing hanging doors, hood, fenders and roof on was the paint. Of course, no matter what we buy, we always have to consider notsomellowyellow's advice on the build budget. . (DAMHIK)

Re: 1968 CST10 Shortbed. Is this a deal or no deal
I had already made my mind up this afternoon, when the guy called me and ask me to come get it. ( His wife hates it ) so I am going to get tomorrow. I just wanted to run it by everyone, because I value your opinions.
