Help with steering wheel

Hi there, need a bit of help
I am looking for a steering wheel for my 1971 C10.

I was looking at the wood type one at LMC but seen a similar one from here and thought i would give them the order as they were recommended by a forum member.

So i emailed them to make sure of the fitment and they say they are made buy grant and used to be ok, but now and quote

"they are made in China and are not formed correctly. The horn will not work with their own horn buttons. We have actually discontinued their line, but haven’t taken it off our website yet."

So a little bit confused to be honest.

Anyone else had or fitted one ?

Wow..sounds like the quality control has crapped out. If you are still looking for a wheel option, the repro 3 spoke corvette/camaro wheel looks great in our trucks. If i was on the home comp i would post a pic, but many people on here have used it and i am sure someone can post one.

To be honest, I would steer clear of that style steering wheel. I have the black rimmed version, and the horn design is terrible. The corvette/camaro version that has the gm designed horn mechanism is far superior and l think probably looks better as well!

Do you know the size of that wheel?

Not the same wheel, but I have a Grant in mine and it I didn't have any problems. Horn button is a different style as its actually a button and not a cap. I wish it was real wood. Its a plastic polymer mahogany look-a-like.

Thanks for your reply's, i have looked for the corvette steering wheel but i could not 100% make sure what adapter to use.

What i ended up doing is buying a grant one from summit racing, i will check it over and let you know my findings.

Got mine from Summit in October. The horn works fine, just do the 'beer box gasket' trick and adjust the three bolts on the fiber disk so they don't bottom out. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=509147

Just to Update the thread,

The wheel arrived from Summit and it looks very well made and so does the adapter. I have yet to fit it as i have only just got my truck shipped over from the USA but i can not see any issues.
