Roll bar dimensions

For anyone looking to get a roll bar bent up or a cage built here are the dimensions that I came up with from measuring my my factory bar years ago. I spent a lot of time double checking the dimensions by drawing it on a piece of plywood & cutting it out. It fits real nice behind the front seats & behind the rear seats if you need one there. The cost I was quoted to have the tubing bent was between $10-$15 per bend + the cost of the material (figure 12 ft per hoop). The dimensions are to the outside of the tubing.

Re: Roll bar dimensions

Yes, Hickey roll bar. I have all the lengths & angles for the legs & the size & hole layout for plates at home. I'll post them up when I get back home on Monday.

It ended up costing me $10 a bend, I was quoted $15 a bend but was told it would be cheaper if I made a full size print on a big piece of paper or cardboard. I had to tape 2 pieces of blueprint paper together then laid it out full size on that. Pipe was $5.25 a foot for 1.75 dia. DOM, so total cost per hoop was $103.

Re: Roll bar dimensions

That is great info! I awas looking for these dimensions for my truck and tried to measure it up myself somehow. It is way better to have thereal dimensions though!
Since you have th original bar right there, could you do me one favor of measuring something for me? If the bar is in the position it is mounted in the truck, the rear kicker bars go to the 45° part on the inner fender well. If it was a long bed truck and the inner fenders were further back, how long would the rear kicker bar be, if you measure it all the way to the bottom? Basically that all 4 legs land on the same horizontal plane, if that makes sense.

Thanks a lot!
