Rear window dilemma
I recently purchased a new cab for my truck as the old one is swiss cheese.
The issue I'm having is with the rear window. The new cab has the classic small back window Which is fine.... however I would do just about anything to keep the old's cab large, sliding window... would certainly keep it cool in there during the heat of summer. Has anyone cut the back of the cab and installed the larger sliding rear window? if the frame has to be welded in, I would happily pay a welder to do it. Thanks! |

Re: Rear window dilemma
Well is you could use the sliding window and use it as a template.
so place it over the small hole, make sure it sits exactly in the middle (left/right and top/bottem) then take a marker and draw a line around it? ah but as I am writing this I realize you wouldn't have the stamped double plated edges to put in the window seal... so I guess you'll have to cut out a bigger part, but that would mean a hell of a welding job because the back of the cab is double plated.

Re: Rear window dilemma
Can't you just buy a new sliding window? LMC lists them for small window cab

Re: Rear window dilemma
A good point! I had not thought of doing that. I still like the idea of the larger back window but I guess I could compromise.

Those sliders look kinda ugly on a small window.

Re: Rear window dilemma
Keep the small window, it is much more rare. If you really want a big rear window, I'm sure someone will trade cabs with you.

Re: Rear window dilemma
In that case, is there anyone in the CT area that would trade cabs with me?
