New carb issue I think.

Worked all day figuring out lighting issues, then went to move the truck. As soon as I step on the go pedal, it dies. Just one cough and done. Starts right back up, idles smooth. Any carb guys have a guess. Does the vacumn advance kick in even at low speed? And maybe it's not?

EDit; Thought maybe I should add that it's a two barrel, 307.

Accelerator pump!
Stroke the throttle (engine shut off) while you look in the carb. Should see a good shot of fuel going in.

Thank you! G-man, I crack it open and I get atomization instead of flow.

What do I do now? Carb rebuild? just replace the A-pump? That involves tearing the carb apart anyway right?

Might as well put a whole rebuild kit in it.

See if you can adjust the linkage for more fuel shot first.
Pull the rod off and stroke the arm, if it improves then bend the rod.
If no improvement then likely a rebuild will fix it.

Rebuild kit or buy a reman'd carb? I know a rebuild kit is cheaper by far but I'm not sure I'm a carb rebuilder.

Any carb guys in the Tri-valley? south/ east bay of S.f.
