proportioning valve question

my new proportioping valve is a little different than the old one. the new one extends down further in the back and has a nipple covered with a rubber boot. it doesn't look quite like a bleed screw though. anybody know what this is? see pics. thanks.

Mine was the same way. They work the same. GM changed part #'s and the long style is correct. It's not a bleed screw, the new style does't have a bleed screw.
