BBC coil/valve covers
So I was watching overhaulin last night and they put a set of hemi valve covers on an ls motor using simple brackets to hide the coils. I've wanted to do that with BBC covers for awhile now but never really had the time to design or think about it much. Has anyone else done this? If you have could you throw up some pics? Much thanks.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
BBC covers might look good but I thought that those Hemi ones looks silly on there did not look like a Chevy it just looked weird. Would BBC be big enough to cover the coil packs and such?

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
Yeah that was my concern. I'll have to take some measurements and think on it.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
Google Holley shop truck. There are some pics of them painted orange, looks just like a big block.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
Those would look nice especially with a paint job.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
So i took some early measurements and set a factory bbc cover over it, and it fits over it, i figure a tall cover sunk down over with a way to cover the gap between it and the head would look pretty neat. now to fab a bracket and see if itll work.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
Can someone measure from the valve cover surface to the top of the coils? I don't have a valve cover available nor any coils/brackets to measure the height. Tia

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
I picked up a set of the Holley covers cheap. They don't work well with truck coils/brackets/intake/dipsticks without some fabrication. I had to make some small brackets to raise them off the valve covers and to clear the coils and I had to do some trimming to keep them from rubbing in a few places. I also had to bend both the trans and oil dipstick tubes to get everything to clear. Plan is to paint them and the Vortec cover body color. Hope to have them painted this week.

Re: BBC coil/valve covers
Yeah id heard that they didn't work well with our motors. Kinda the reason I wanted to use real ones. Though if this doesn't work out ill just buy a coil relocations set and buy a nice pretty set of valve covers lol
