Re: And so it begins... Our '65 C10 from the ground up.

Hi everyone! Hope you guys had a great weekend. My dad and I had the privilege to attend the Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA on Saturday for my birthday. We had a great day at the 22nd California Hot Rod Reunion watching some cars post 5-6 sec 1/4 miles at over 250mph!!!! I wanted to share a few pics with you guys of some of the great trucks I saw.

Re: And so it begins... Our '65 C10 from the ground up.

It has been far too long…. I’ll start with that.
The progress has been very slow as college is keeping me very busy.

A little update:
We decided to tear apart the 415, and found that it was not well built and did not appear to be recently “rebuilt.”
Fortunately, I was able to nab a 427 tall deck crate engine from a friend. The 427 was taken out of a
wrecked truck only a few thousand miles after it had been installed.
So it looks like this 65 chevy will now be Big Block Powered!

Last weekend I was able to teardown the 427, as I will be replacing the stock cam with one that is a bit more aggressive.
I am hoping to achieve 500hp on pump gas which I have been told shouldn’t be an issue.
Any recommendations on internal parts?!

I was able to take a time-lapse video with my phone of the teardown.
Let me know what you think! Cheers!
