71 TH400 kickdown
I have a 71 c10 custom deluxe with a 350 and a th400. The PO put an Edelbrock carb on it. I have no tranny kickdown. I looked at Lokar's kit but it shows a two prong plug. I checked my tranny and saw only one spade connecter. Any ideas?

Re: 71 TH400 kickdown
Just use a spare extra brake light switch with a bracket to the throttle bracket in the cab, cheap and hidden out of the way. connect one end to the th400 and the other to the power feed.

Re: 71 TH400 kickdown
In 71 the kick down switch is located inside the cab on the accelerator pedal. There are two wires going to the switch, one is power the other goes to the transmission solenoid on the side of the transmission.

Re: 71 TH400 kickdown
If you are trying to figure out one or two pins at the trans. connector this wil help.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s....php?p=7037666 Since you are retrofitting a TH400 just install the 71-72 style detent switch on the accelerator pedal and run a couple of wires or buy a harness for a 71-72 and be done with it. No need to install an aftermarket cable switch when stock (as on a big block TH400 or C30 installation) is easily done.

Re: 71 TH400 kickdown
I believe it was KD-2400HT. Have you checked to see if the original switch is still on the firewall as shown in a picture above. My 69 used a switch on the intake for use with a quadrajet that would not work with the Holley. As stated above an original 71 switch should work with your Edelbrock.
