Question removing wiper arms

I'm trying to remove the wiper arms on my '72 c10 so that I can take off the panel beneath them. I'm not sure where to start without breaking or bending something. Any help would be appreciated.

Clip

There is a little silver/chrome clip that you need to put a small screw driver in. Once you do that you should be able to pull the wiper arm off. Wootdog

Exclamation spoke too soon..

The clip won't budge... I'm about to lose my mind... Basically I'm trying to get to the inner cowl area to examine how bad the rust is (since it's leaking into the cab from there).... That should be the hard part, fixing the rust... but just like everything else in my life, I can't even get there. I'm going to rip the arms off in a minute or two. Then I'm going to twist the wiper arms up in a big knot and throw them against the garage door. I love winter.

All else fails go to a auto parts store

buy new wiper blades and tell them you want them to install them. Just a thought. Wootdog

If you pull the wiper away from the windshield it changes the pressure on the splined shaft and will help a little....

WELL ... YOU CAN WRAP THEM IN RAGS, SO AS NUT TO SCRATCH THE PAINT,HAVE A FRIEND PULL OUT ON THE CLIP WHILE ANOTHER FRIEND TAPS ON THE WIPER WITH A RUBBER MALLET WHILE YOU PRY UPWARDS ON THE WIPER WITH TWO SCREWDRIVERS. OH & DON'T FORGET TO SPRAY EVERYTHING IN SIGHT WITH WD-40.

OR YOU CAN USE ONE OF THESE SPECIALTY PLIERS MADE BY K-D & AVAILABLE AT ALMOST ANY DECENT AUTO PARTS STORE FOR UNDER $10 TO TAKE IT OFF IN LESS THAT 3 SECONDS. IT'S PT.#K-D 2039 JOHN
