sound deadening question - revised

I know I asked about this same general topic the other day.

Has anybody used the Fat Mat or Thunder Mat off of ebay for sound deadening. I'm trying to keep the cost down on this upgrade and would appreciate any input. I know people have said good things about the brown bread, but has anybody ran this stuff?

Tom

I used dyna mat on my truck....and it was expensive. My brother used Fat Mat on his truck and it was 1/2 the cost. I feel they are about the same grade of quality. If I was to do it again, it would be Fat Mat. I had never driven this truck before so I couldn't tell you how much it has improved. Hope this helps you.

I used a home product for mine. Go to a home improvement store and look for what looks like plastic air bubble wrap covered with aluminum foil on both sides. It comes in rolls about 18" wide or so. It is thin and fairly easy to use. I glued it to the floor under my carpet and on the back wall too with 3M super spray adhesive Super 77, i believe. Between that, door panels and the new carpet the truck is really quiet.

If you order Fat Mat on Ebay I hope you are not in a hurry because it took almost a month for them to ship it. You can't get through to them on the phone either. They said they changed the phone system but they are slow shipping.

There is a spray on sound deadener called Quiet Coat. Check it out at www.quietcoat.com, 5 gallons should so a whole truck for $240. I have never used it, but I think I will give it a try when I start my resto.

That's what I bought. If you look at the B-Quiet site, you can see test results that show the Brown Bread is more effective than Fat Mat.
The guy that sells it is in Canada, but he ships it the same day. I had my roll on my doorstep in 6 days. Check this auction out-Brown Bread on Ebay

I used 1.5 rolls of the Brown Bread to cover the whole interior of my blazer.
Definite change in sound levels. It's kind of a pain to install but worth it.
