AD headlight switch

I purchased a non o/e headlight switch, my lights suddenly went off so I turned the knob a little & it came back on. Now the lights keep going off even flickering. It's a bit dangerous desperately fiddling with the switch trying to get the lights back on when they go out. Anyone else had this problem? I see the genuine ones don't have a knob fo you have to buy them seperately? Any recommendations where to get 1 from? Thanks

Are you running the lights through relays?

I think there is relays in the EZ wiring loom, I'll have to check

I know my loom does not have relays, have read the old original switches could deal with no relay as only 6v but the 12v need a relay for more reliable operation (this was from a mustang owner)

Maybe why your switch is dying?

You can get the knobs from many resellers in the U.S., prob fresh farm, and top speed in UK also.

My loom had a relay for horn, hazards and indicators

I mounted a power block on the side of the battery box and ran the power wire with a fusible link to relays mounted on the radiator support, driver side. Details are here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=802 I ran one circuit and relay for the high beams, one for the low in case one failed I would have the other set. I would replace the light switch, something inside is loose/shorting and is going to fry your wiring harness (best case) or burn the truck to the ground (bummer).

Sounds like a bad switch to me

Yeah just got reply from EZ 'Replace switch. if you can get them to come back on by fiddling with the switch then that is a bad thing' called supplier he said he'd swap it for another.
