I tried the Dupi-color BlackChrome Paint Kit

I'm getting ready for the big engine oil leak fix on my 86 C20 5.7L. I'm not a big fan of chrome any more. After many many years owning countless V-Twins and loads of chrome. I have a love hate feeling about the stuff now.

So in the engine compartment of my truck is a no chrome zone. Or a very limited chrome zone. I'm on a budget for accessories right know. I have picked up a used Edelbrock intake, Holley carb. And have dug through all my old reserves for every spare I could find. I wanted black tall valve covers but there pricey. I had a black chrome paint kit. So I bought a pair of chrome valve covers for $29.00 I hope the hold up, if not I'll spray them motorcycle engine case wrinkle black.

Also I went to the exstearm on the black base coat.

Looks good but wondering if those will hold up in the heat of engine compartment. Good job.

very cool experiment, thank you for sharing, I am planning on using the same product on my headlight bezels and chrome mirrors, etc, does it stick good, does it scratch off
