Project: Blazed and Confused

Well...some of you may, and some of you may not be aware that I have a problem! I have a serious weakness for square body GM trucks, muscle cars, and GM cars alike. The square body trucks are becoming a real issue lately...lmao. I have absolutely NO control...hahaha.

I recently sold off one of my K5 4x4 Blazers I had that was supposed to be my weekend warrior, trail rig, work horse and was a 6.2L diesel. Long story short as always seems to happen is that money becomes tighter than time, or someone offers you something you just can't resist and the project finds a new home.

This time I'm not making any promises, not going to say "I'm keeping this one", or anything of the sort. Then maybe...just MAYBE this one will stay put with no plans of a new home in it's immediate future. No time line....nothin! Just an outline of what I want to do, and pictures as the project progresses.

...lets see if this works.

Sooooo....let's get the story off on the right foot if you will and explain where and why this project is being added to my never ending list of things to do.

I found it on a classifieds ad locally and instantly made a quick call about it. Truck was said to be in decent shape, no documents of ownership (workable), and super sweet deal to top it off. Within the hour I jumped in the truck with my son and drove just over an hour to go have a look at it with cash in hand. Ends up the truck was easily more than the owner described it and within 5 minutes I had let go of another mitt full of hard earned cash. A week goes by and now sits in my possession awaiting its fate....which at this time is kind of undetermined.

Ends up that the truck is nearly rust free (major rust anyways) and thinking it has maybe 100,000km judging by the body condition....nope! 550,000km on this thing and appears to be all original except for shocks, hubs, transmission, and brakes. INSANE for these parts....I've owned K5's with a quarter of the K's on them as this one and in 10 times worse condition. Still looking for evidence of a complete restoration at some point in it's life..but nothing.

...anyways, long winded as I am here it is in all it's glory. Can't wait to get some other projects out of the way and get started on it.

I like the how they closed in the cab, lol. Is that a roll out rear window? I hope to see more of this build.

Re: Project: Blazed and Confused

So, some progress I guess......

Found a vent window with wings for free on a classified add, drove a couple hours to go get it and is on. Gutted the interior down to the bare floor, had to throw away the drivers door as it was half full of rotting barley/wheat that the mice had stored away (STIIIIIIINK!!!), disinfected twice, washed and washed again, put on manual doors, dumped the 10 year old oil and filter and put some new stuff in, truck turns over and isn't seized!!! Pulled the fuel pump/sender....ewwwwww, half a tank of basically varsol. Threw away the tank as it had 2" of sludge in the bottom as well with some rust. Getting replaced...

should get to it again in a few days....

Gonna have to stop making build threads....jesus! She is headed to a new home next weekend. Did some bartering this weekend for my K5 4x4 and my K30 4x4 reg cab on a cummins driveline and some other stuff for the CC 4x4.
