Dieseling
I have an Edelbrock 1406. Often times my truck "diesels" or sputters after I shut it down. I've been reading about tuning it up a little but haven't quite figured out where to start. It's timed to 8 before and I've got HEI.

Try backing off on your "idle" speed adjustment screw a little. It cured mine.
